As administrator and C.E.O. of Covington County Hospital, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our hospital website and our unique brand of care. Covington County Hospital has been fulfilling the health and medical needs of the community since 1950.Throughout the years we have become known as the place to come for compassionate care. Our level of care is only matched by our commitment to obtaining advanced medical technologies and state-of-the-art facilities for our patients. For those of you who are new to the area or haven't been to the hospital recently, let me outline some of the recent hospital innovations.
In 2009, we renovated the entire first floor of the facility. The result is a hospital that is modern, welcoming and comforting to our patients and their family alike. In 2010, we turned our efforts to the second floor, and have just completed an extraordinary transformation of our patient rooms and nurse's station. Our new patient suites look and feel more like the accommodations of a fine hotel. The appointments, décor and room size create a comforting environment for our patients and their visitors. Since my words will never adequately describe our new patient accommodations, we have posted some photos on the home page of this website for your review.
Aside from the facility renovations, we've made recent advancements in adding new medical staff to your community hospital. We have added four new specialist physicians to our services in the last year. To date, specialists in Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology and Surgery can be found right here at CCH. We will soon add Urology and Neurology to our specialists treating patients in our specialty clinic. And we will continue to bring our patients more specialists to make healthcare more convenient for our community. We have also added some wonderful family medicine physicians to our trusted medical staff. We proudly welcome Dr. Harpreet Sood of Jackson and Dr. Ginger Pace-Herndon of Sumrall. And a heart-felt thank you to Dr. Jason Beasley, Dr. Word Johnston, Dr. Joe Johnston, and Dr. Andrea Bruce for their continued support and dedication to our patients.
As you look around this website, you will notice the faces of your friends and neighbors who are patients that we have had the pleasure to serve. I want to take this opportunity to personally thank all of the members of this community who have taken part in our "my hospital" campaign. We are so proud to count you among our steadfast supporters. We appreciate your support and promise to keep providing this community with superior and compassionate healthcare.
